that's definitely a factor: LPs can finally access funds they couldn't before.

the numbers on the huge funds aren't great though. you're buying predictability, not pure alpha.

track record is also pretty important here 

why invest in an emerging fund when an incumbent has proven an ability to consistently outperform? especially if you aren't access constrained.
