OF Cody Bellinger traded to New York Yankees
Another chapter in the search for a new home has come to an end. Cody Bellinger was once considered a top-notch player: Rookie of the Year, MVP, World Series champion, two SS and one GG.
A series of injuries and a friendship with Scott Boras led Bellinger from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Chicago Cubs, where he showed good play in places (for example, in 2023), but the club was not ready to fork out (a three-year, $80 million contract does not count).
Luckily for Cody, the New York Yankees had a solid rotation, due to which their current roster is formed. In exchange for Bellinger, RHP Cody Poteet went to Chicago.
Now Bellinger will play center field for the Yankees, just like his father Clay Bellinger did from 1999 to 2001, a two-time World Series champion with the pinstripes.
