the last few days all i’ve noticed personally is more bot interactions and slightly more questions in my replies, nothing too crazy

i think this is perfectly natural, and a good opportunity to reflect on what you want out of being here, ya know?

fwiw it took me years of consistently posting publicly before i felt comfortable with it (mostly on twitter and reddit)

But to be honest, I can't really claim anything, because all I have is a moment when I caught myself doing some posts not just because I felt like it, but also to grab someone's attention

this is 100% true; top accounts were withholding interactions intentionally (and often spitefully) if they thought the interacter was “not worthy”

i went through a short phase of thinking about this all, and decided to respond and interact with anything that seemed genuine and on topic 

with all that said; moxie isn’t big enough to ruin Farcaster. we can all stay here and sculpt this place with our own behavior with or without it

In my opinion, when some people start to value a resource that you may not have even given any attention to, you will start to value it too

And I'm sure that as of late, people may be wondering, is this content worthy of my reaction? 

And when something as insignificant as a like becomes valuable, you wonder if this is the environment that the developers wanted to build

it’s not you, Coop; the algo is just…not there yet.

i say this not to throw stones at Merkle (they have an *incredibly* difficult job), but to commiserate; getting traction on posts seems like a lottery.

the real point here is that the users and community are almost powerless to fix this — “build your own client” is basically toothless until the protocol enables material competition against Warpcast. it doesn’t yet.

in the meantime, if folks like us with established followings struggle to find traction, it’s hard to imagine how difficult it must be for the courageous new users in our ranks…if that’s you, thank you for being here! if it’s not, please do everything you can to lift up and encourage these accounts. 🖤

i’m patient and dedicated and know we’ll eventually solve all of this, but the scene can definitely get tough for many folks out here right now…
