i increasingly think “write your systems from scratch” is good advice not because some libraries and frameworks aren’t worth the tradeoffs, but because most developers don’t even consider them. think about everything between your IDE and the transistor for a minute.

There is learning value in writing things from scratch, but the counter point is, what do you really want to build? And then focusing on that, with buy / build decisions along the way
