What do we think of channels getting a cut of storage fees when they refer users to create a farcaster account? I think the value proposition of joining and supporting an exclusive community in the form of farcaster channel is clearer than paying a protocol fee just to join farcaster

nice idea to kick around…and maybe even for multi-channel clients? (thinking about it as a referral fee) btw do you know what the intended purpose of the storage fees is? (besides sybil-resistance, of course)

My thinking was specifically for a client like warpcast, so multi channel. Ofc it makes even more sense for channel-specific clients. I suppose the referral could be any address so could be users as well Afaik exactly how the protocol fees will be spent is tbd so it’s just sitting in a multisig for now. The fees could be redistributed to users who turn out not to be abusing the network (subjective of course) or maybe to channels (after filtering out spammers)
