Imo “Connect wallet” thing is the biggest blocker to mass adoption and not the best UX solution. 
Do you know anything that might be more user friendly and safe at the same time (at least hypothetical)?

yeah asking new users to setup an extension before they can interact with  your app is a huge friction point 

check out thirdweb connect, it lets you easily build onboarding experiences that feel “web2” (including completely custom flows)
