fairly convinced that you should heavily discount all startup advice from people who've never built anything with at least some traction

doiq agrees. there's also 100s of people trying to convince you they have such experience and will try to give you 'advice' when in fact they're just dressed up sales men. Sometimes it's hard to discern what's what. Experience solves this.
