Question from a european. Can Trump really be considered a strong candidate? I get his power within GOP, but he's also one of the few incumbents ever to lose a presidential election, and that was before jan 6. Also, remember how badly most candidates pushing the Trump/right wing populist agenda fared in the midterms..

It’s one of those things you would have to live in the USa to really understand.

There is a nihilism at play here.
They think running the same play of taking away right, deporting people etc is gonna turn out different the second time around

Also there is some on the left who suspect Trump will try to move towards dictatorship at some point.
