Depends on the crime, theft or drugs if not repeat offenders I would say even less. Maybe 6 months and 100 days of community service.

There is no point locking people up with harsh punishments for minor things.

Taking peoples lives away for minor things and mistakes is just stupid.

Instead of getting them back into society you're making these people outcasts.
