When you’re reading, do you hear a voice in your head vocalizing the words?

Unfortunately, yes. I say unfortunately as I’ve read that to read at a faster rate, you have to silence that voice and read paragraphs in big chunks.

Internal routing in human brain needs a serious upgrade. Reminds me of this from Terminator I.

Yup. And for me real comprehension seems intertwined with it. If I lean into it I get in a flow and can digest dense material readily, but I don’t speed up with lighter material. Come to think of it, not fighting it is also how I naturally get into a real flow state with what I’m reading.
