if you use next.js and are still setting up a backend in a separate repo, can I you ask you why? genuinely curious

i agree, but how does this relate to the separate backend?

i've only seen this problem with next apps that have a shared backend so throwing it out there

hmm - i mean the first problem you described (i.e no user responsiveness) is just a bad usage of ssr components imo, as for the second not a clue 🤔

wouldn’t an extra backend (ie a separate backend from nextjs) just make the delays worse?

anyway, the freezing is likely a lambda cold start problem rather than nextjs
