The Kaia blockchain from the developers of the two largest instant messengers in South Korea and Japan (Kakao and LINE) launches the main network. The developers announced support for mini-applications in the LINE messenger, similar to Telegram. Kaia was introduced in April following the merger of Kakao's Klaytn and LINE's Finschia networks. The combined user base of the two messengers is over 250 million people.

China extradited from Thailand the founder of the cryptocurrency pyramid MBI Group, the damage from whose activities is estimated at $14 billion. The project attracted more than 10 million participants who paid from $98 to $34,300 for membership. In March 2021, Interpol China issued a Red Notice to citizen Zhang. Thai police arrested him in July 2022, and a Thai court ordered Zhang's extradition to China in May this year.
