Giorgio Vasari

Giorgio (1574-1511) was an Italian painter, writer, historian and architect.  He is famous today for writing the biography of the artists of the Renaissance period called the life of the most prominent painters, sculptors and architects in Italian language, which is considered the ideological basis of writing the history of art.  He became friends with Michelangelo, who influenced his painting style.
