We are at the stage with our daughter where all she wants is her mom and wants nothing to do with me for the most part. I know this is a stage, but it kind of my breaks my heart when she runs away from me when I want to give her a hug or hold her.

Thankfully she is only 15 months old, but we play all the time and read together. There are just certain parts of her day where she just wants her mom. I love being involved in her life as much as possible. It's crazy that dads weren't historically involved in their kids lives as much as they are nowadays outside of certain circumstances.

That’s tough.  Just stay present and in her life.  Tell her how much you love and care for her - every day.  Be there at family events, if she’s in school, go to every school event you can, after school activities, etc.  When she wants to watch her shows on TV, watch them  too.

Oh, and in the meantime, go earn bacon for the family. 😳😆😅

Thank you! I try not to put too much stock into, but when I’m already not home a lot lately because of coaching at night it crushes me when the time I do have she just wants mom. I’ll keep finding the things she loves to do with me and leverage those.

You are right, it is a phase. You can use her favorite things to connect more with her. Make her favorite things a big deal🤍 hang in there and know she loves you🫶

It happened so quickly too. Last week she would run to me and want all the hugs she could ever ask for and this week she just cries or runs away and death grips her mom's leg. It might also not help that I have been getting home late from coaching.
