I've thought about this, and there's no similar gesture that this could be mistaken for... it's pretty unequivocally a nazi salute and anybody saying it isn't is coping. This Roman salute stuff is nonsense as well, nobody knows what that is. Anybody who did this and didn't intend for it would have apologized & explained that wasn't their intention. He hasn't

I am Jewish, and I never once thought that Elon was doing a Nazi salute. Why would he? I think he was just overcome with emotion being at the inauguration and did something autistic. The internet is quick to label things for a reaction. Don't let this get to you.

think you may have confirmation bias - elon is an incredible entrepreneur and his policies may seem reasonable - so it'd also be pretty disappointing to see him be a nazi sympathiser I am not looking to rationalize his behaviour and explain it or justify it. Clear as day he did something that looked like a nazi salute and did not go "oops I didn't mean for that to look like a nazi salute, my bad guys", which even an autistic person would reasonably say within a couple hours

We're talking about a human being - someone who is complicated and has many flaws. That being said, I think it's best to give people the benefit of the doubt and understand the bigger picture of who they are before jumping to conclusions. If somebody is showing consistent support for Jewish people and then does an arm gesture that gets misconstrued, does that mean that they hate Jewish people? I don't think so. Calling them a Nazi implies that they want all Jews dead, and I don't think that is a fair appraisal of a person who has shown support for the same people you claim he wants to eradicate.

If I had to speculate, I think he did the nazi salute because he could, he doesnt think nazis are all that bad and he thought it would piss certain people off. I think you‘re the one jumping to some conclusions about things

What conclusions am I jumping to? What bias am I attempting to confirm? You've yet to answer a single question of mine clearly, and continue to make baseless claims. It seems like you want to confirm the bias that "Elon is a bad guy", and that "Elon *intentionally* did a Nazi salute to piss people off". I'm trying to argue that we shouldn't attribute to malice what can be easily explained by autism.

Zooming out here: 1. It's hilarious that a German is telling a Jew what the definition of a Nazi is... 2. I *really* don’t know what you gain from pushing the narrative that Elon is doing a "Nazi salute"... (Even if you claim to "not be calling him a Nazi") 3. I love you, and I hope you don't lose sight of that. Don’t miss the forest for the trees brother.
