So, the plus flag stands for the principle of starting a new country.

haha. that's what it looks like currently. (which is why I assumed this is the placeholder)

I would love to see some sort of prompt here for a Network States of the Internet flag that is open to the internet. maybe with some sort of bounty where people select their favorites.

A few alternatives I quickly explored.

Last one can be interesting, differentiated enough from Swiss one and shows, kind of, lines coming from multiple directions towards center.
With some shape tweaking probably so it doesn't look like crosshairs 😂
