
mango salsa was a hit but the real winner was my secret sauce
i receive requests for this sauce at every bbq i go to
funny thing is, i never make it the same, but the base is always the basic big mac sauce (except i use kewpie)
so: kewpie, ketchup, spicy brown mustard, dash of washyoursister, dash of sweet baby rays, dash of pickle brine (i use bread & butter for this)
seasonings: smoked paprika, garlic, onion, salt & pepper (+msg š)
then i added habanero hot sauce, garlic chill cholula, jalapeƱo hot sauce, mikes hot honey, and a scoop of lao gan ma; was a little running so thickened it up with a dollop of hellmans
straight up raided the pantry & sauce door on this one & i gotta say, it was best iāve made & others agreed
a rollercoaster for the budsācomes on sweet, punctuation with a umami mouth feel, then the complexity & heat creeps up for the finish
weāve also polished 3 bottles of aperol, 4 bottles of champagne & a few others thangs this weekend but thatās a story for a different day 11 replies
