There's a lot to like about Ethereum culture. The worst part about Ethereum culture, however, is the invented purity tests. If you don't like something, don't use it. Even better: build an alternative! It's a permissionless, decentralized and open source-friendly ecosystem. You can just fork things! The hard part is getting people to use your version and keep using your thing. So naturally the apps / platforms / chains that have usage and users attract the most armchair opinions. And in an environment where there isn't a massive influx of new people, the finger-pointing and scapegoating only intensifies. The way out is more people with funded wallets transacting regularly onchain who are actually using the apps that people are building.

Respectfully, I don't think that telling everyone "build it better" is an answer to all critiques. The same narratives play out over and over again. The same folks get rewarded. Cycles feel like Goundhog's Day. My building an app, which I have no technical skills to do, is not changing the culture of crypto. With or without my app, speculation will still run rampant, we will still lift up folks who are extractive, and the narrative of the day will still dictate a large portion of success or failure. Part of why I like this platform versus others is that more people here seem aligned to a longer-term vision of Web3 than simply their bags, the next day's price action, or their next funding round. Not only do we need a culture shift, but once that happens, we need to fix the perception of our industry. I go to other platforms, and people genuinely hate us just for being onchain. They read headline after headline about fraud, manipulation, and decept. We all need to fix that as well.

> Respectfully, I don't think that telling everyone "build it better" is an answer to all critiques. 1. Did I say all critiques? 2. The first option is just don't use it. Second option is build. Third option is there are plenty of other apps / builders desperate for users / feedback.
