Oh the whole thing sucks right now. Wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole. 

But if they sort out industrial design and a developer ecosystem, we’ll see what’s up in 10 years.

The reality is that there really isn’t a way to make AR glasses cool right now. Battery and compute brick need to be in the headset, which makes it goony. Too many sensors on the face.

No fucking way people are leaving the house with these unless they are complete nerds.

Whole thing exists to stack patents, justify near term R&D spend, train product pipeline, and attract talent.

Only viable sizable market with today’s form factor is home office, which Apple leads for the moment.

how is a company that sells exclusively to teenagers also producing the most unfuckable pair of eyewear on earth? i just don’t get how they retain user base despite churn if THIS is what they think people will find cool. very disappointed in spiegel who was my favorite founder 2012-14 (maybe 2016 on the long end)
