one downside of formal education is it tends to teach you there are answers to things.

before I was properly educated I relied more on gut and whatever made sense from my own life experience. that’s all I had and needed. 

after university I became skeptical of my experience and a believer in reproducible science which is often contradicting to n=1 personal experience.

result is more uncertainty: “is this the correct choice? Do I know enough to choose this? what unknown unknowns are there?”.

I think some of this comes with age too as you meet folks more clever or experienced than you in domains.

but there definitely seems to be a “curse of knowledge” at some level.

I had a couple of stints as a midwit in my 30s. Now I’m full on jazzercising through life.
