President-elect Donald Trump has named Paul Atkins as the new chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), following the resignation of the previous chairman, Gary Gensler. šø Unlike the previous SEC chairman, Atkins is a pro-cryptocurrencies advocate and has defended the benefits of cryptocurrencies in the US Congress.
