yep, one of the moderators invited me if I remember it correctly.

but I'm not in /albumoftheday for example, and not sure who's in charge there. Would be cool if channels like that would be open to anyone to cast there, cause why not.

Not really....just made it up...

I do think it helped that I was casting in others to show that I cast appropriately (not spammy ) but that's more of a General profile overview reflection.
