I have a theory for all of us who love horror: We are so attracted to it because fear is an emotion that humans are constantly escaping from.

And the fact that an emotion has so much weight for the human mind, such as horror, makes us curious to see, read or hear things related to those sinister and dark feelings.

Because it is difficult for us to put it into words and images. And that is why it generates pleasure when a book or a movie of this genre achieves its goal.

Because what we do not want to experience literally, can pass through us symbolically, as it happens in art.
