A popular (and somewhat) valid criticism that I’ve been hearing about the early recipients of the reward was that the users were friends with the “elites”, so they got engagement from the accounts with higher social capital, which led to higher engagement rankings and subsequent rewards

I wonder if now the trend is gonna be the rewards going to the users who are part of the large channels with the “scatch my back and I scratch yours” culture like success, replyguys etc. 

I know I gonna be shat on for the “scratch” phrase but this is how I personally see the big community channels for the most part. Yes, some casts are bangers, but a lot are just “you’re awesome - no, YOU’re awesome”. I don’t mind it but it’s just not my thing so I don’t partake
