Identity related product matters in 2 case:
1. down stream of a product that already have reach: eg. twitter, gmail etc
2. has strong utility: FB initially work as a personal website(great for sharing for likes for validation, or stalking opposite sex), linkedin is great for a online CV site and for job seeking

For new product, only #2 matters.

For example, Tinder Profile is extremely functional and has strong utility while tg profile not so much other than key info the TG handle.

So what could be the strong utility for a crypto related profile?

working on /microsub; creator of @degentipbot.eth; producer/dj; host of /campfire 🎧 + /downshift ⚙️

in the case of Farcaster, i think the end user’s literal ownership of their account and associated identity is the strong utility…@downshift.eth is un-nerfable; thus, i can build reputation and graph around this identity with abandon.

i can’t wait for it to become more portable, but this is already a great reason not to use X
