Users seem to mostly only care about entertaining or useful content, community. Owning their content may be secondary

it's really hard because you likely have to spend significant amount of time working on stuff what most end users don't care about

while building for developers where developers only care about users you could give them. So might as well just do whatever to attract users and go "trust me bro" for the developer features.
only difference being "can't be evil vs won't be evil"

I mean the warpcast direct cast strategy seems to be optimal.
just go with centralized api first and only protocolized with proven pmf

i agree and this is an incentives problem because it's important for it to be open but there is little incentive to prioritize that

i guess building for developers adds pressure to prioritize protocolization
