They are breaking "proof of work". In a mmorpg game, if someone is using plug-in, it would ruin the game for everyone, causing inflation of in-game currency and gear. remember @dangerwillrobin 's script?

Spammy content by human is still a problem but since they are run by human and thus have "limited power", their damage is not as severe imo.

Plenty of accounts run by humans that produce spammy content though
