We’re working on a project with Harvard to turn electricity into things that microbes can convert into food, protein, materials, fuels. Both on and off planet.

What about the opposite? Microbes convert carbohydrates into electricity?

We’ve looked into that and it doesn’t make any financial sense. The price of carbohydrates and the theoretical maximum electric output from a microbe results in a very high energy cost. Biology is not an efficient technology for electricity production.
