Really love this article about dubbing Cowboy Bebop ~ still the onboarder of plenty of anime fans and one of the best shows + OSTs + anime dubs around. Most of Watanabe's animes follow that trend too! https://www.slashfilm.com/1451531/oral-history-cowboy-bebop-english-dub-best-anime-dub-ever/

Oh, really interesting! However, I always struggle with dubbing; I feel like we lose something compared to the original voice, but it's true that some dubbing is truly extraordinary and manages to bring something new

Usually I'm a subs > dubs guy, but a few kick that trend. Watanabe's more recent anime for Netflix actually takes it a step further. All the music is sung by the English voice actors, so it was a kind of "English-first" anime. The Japanese dub is also great, but then you hear the English VAs singing anyway hah.
