banana bread is better without chocolate chips

I have never seen or heard of banana bread *with* chocolate chips 🤔  Is this a regional thing?

my mom does it east coast but the good stuff is zucchini muffins

What's wild about that is that we regularly make banana bread in this house, and we make a lot of pastries with chocolate chip, and we make a lot of crazy fusion foods, but it has never occurred to me to put chocolate chips in banana bread. Definitely seems out of place.
