*extracting* value from their community Right? Seems super zero sum, and the community definitely isn't on the positive end of it. We have in the past decade built so many crypto mechanisms to bring value into a community. This isn't it.

Depends on the details. If you keep 80% of supply and make your community compete over scraps, sure. But there's a right way to do this and it will involve giving a huge proportion of tokens away to the community for free Airdrops from influencers
