In you're in favor of "AI safety" (broad definition), what's your most compelling cast-length argument?

Ilya put it best. Humans love animals, but when we want to build a road between two cities, we don’t ask the animals for permission.

AGI will treat us the same way.

Replace "AGI" with "corporations" and you might get a more realistic framing of how that'll play out, at least until the ASI era.
Corporations can mostly do whatever they want, but there are still at least some traditional and symbolic constraints keeping them in check, which will continue to erode because we let them.
