Did you see risc zero's proof of doom thing they did last year? Proving the time of a doom speedrun without any other details of how it was done. I did see this! I would definitely only want to write a circuit/circuits that proves the bare minimum necessary for the game mechanics. Doing a full vm seems like overkill and would be pretty computationally wasteful for the kind simple 2d game I would want to do. Like anything to do with graphics and art assets doesn't need to be proved. Just player inputs and the resulting world interactions
