In my opinion is not that bad. Way better than user:pass. At least now is wallet:cryptosign. “No” recuring passwords - same pass used on multiple resources.
With more personal devices having onboard hsm modules there is room for improvements and we are getting closer to proxy address onboarding and signing

Add a whitelist for connected apps.  Disallow any transactions with an app without a warning; unless they were previously added.
