That’s fascinating to me, because Douglas Hofstadter’s Gödel, Escher, Bach is one of two books that profoundly changed my outlook on life more than two decades ago; the other being Ray Kurzweil’s The Age of Spiritual Machines.

I’d agree with you except in the case of the cusp generations, like xennial, who grew up with change and are more accustomed to changing with the times. I find those that didn’t have that change get scared of it easier.
