I honestly have no idea. It's just so much more toxic. Have you experienced the same? Do you have a thesis on why it might be?

yah, X is definitely like that one thesis is that because it has no community tools, and it doesn't really even encourage communities it ends up inviting and rewarding dunking on others by out-group participants who might hate a thing someone is passionate about on the algo...

...and the algo tends to reward engagement at all costs. even if it's spreading fake news, toxic vitriol, etc. i think custom algos, as are / will be possible through Farcaster front-ends should help ameliorate some of those kinds of issues

X is so F'ed i believe that you could take someone nice and excited about the internet and have them use it for 3 months and they come out a warped and tortured person the site is useful, but it promotes a terrible way of engaging with others
