Experimenting with a new onboarding feed that is algorithmic like TikTok. No initial follows.

But that means you need to be posting engaging content.

I'd like to welcome my autofollow friends to the engagement trenches. we newcomers thank you for all you did to sustain this network during the long, hard winter. us sweet summer children will never have low fids,  but we'll always have low fid friends

As they say — what can be, unburdened by the autofollow that has been. 

Interesting to see what happens — expecting a 26% hit on my follower count but hopefully better engagement. 🤷‍♀️

True more frequently than not the auto follow won’t take the action to unfollow, but will lurk and then get lost in the algo. I’m curious how your interactions with change, if at all

Haven’t thought about it too specifically but I’m assuming that auto follows don’t always end up as active follows that comment etc. So hypothetically this should lead to fewer followers but with more interactions since they would intentionally follow. Time will tell.
