I grew up next to execution grounds where tens of thousands of innocent people were shot by Stalin regime. He was a dictator, imperialist and murderer. He does not belong anywhere where people and compassion matter. Him and Hitler are the same character with a different economic policy.

I've talked to people who:ve been in tech for a few decades, feelings are similar. No numbers for you. I am wondering how one quantifies innovation and can one define and quantity _effective_ innovation. Btw, somebody in Europe told me that it lacks the tech doom and gloom that I describe. Also anecdotal.

As a person in tech I could say subjectively that it has come to a crawl. And past "innovations" have done little besides creating extractive megacorps and a technofeudal class. AI is making the situation worse by increasing worker competition without passing much actual benefit to the consumer.

Dear Farcaster, I just took a web3 delivery platform from first line of code to Series A and deployment in multiple cities. Now I am looking for a new job in backend or full-stack eng, preferably at least Series A, preferably non-Node (time to branch out). Pointers welcome. 🙏

NYRB is awesome. Have two books on my nightstand. One that really stood out was Kaputt - writings by an Italian officer and reporter as he visits different parts of the axis front. It is like poetry about violence.
