Only 20 mins into @ethereumfilm and already came across the perfect quote to encapsulate the power and promise of this technology: "The dream of the internet was to connect everyone without borders or mediation. But the complexity of what we do now online has made us reliant on middlemen, especially giant corporations and governments. But it doesn't have to be like this. Think, for example, of a marketplace like eBay, Uber, Airbnb. At the end of the day it's just an individual providing a service to another individual. Why do we have this company in between? Well, this company provides very trusted services. It mediates payments, it handles identity and reputation, reviews insurance. But what if we can rebuild all these services as applications on Ethereum? We're building infrastructure that the whole world can enjoy. And on top of these really strong foundations, we can build this infinite garden."
