How Do We Get Decentralized AI Collective Intelligence?

First, where are we? We're on the internet, the first digital cultural phenomena.

In March of last year, GPT4 came out and things are starting to shift and change.

AI is a societal trip.

Even if AGI isn't reached in the near term, we're already well on the way to a near future of AI agent to AI agent interaction.

As models starting to network together more, we enter the era of Collective AI, the second digital phenomena.

Where does that leave us? This image is from @vitalik.eth who's view is "dangers behind, but multiple paths forward ahead: some good, some bad".

In order to find the 'good' path, let's simplify the model and say that both the Internet and Collective AI run on the Web. 

If you're reading this you, you already know there are two webs, 2 and 3.

Looking at user data, there's a term in adtech called "data exhaust" which is trail of info left by the activities someone does online / onchain.

In web2, a person's data exhaust is consumed and processed the marketing industry to extract value and maximize profits.

This is image is map of software companies with a single goal, to get you to buy more.

One bad path ahead is centralized Collective AI where corporate extraction is super charged with machine intelligence. 

We have already seen the effect that web2 companies have had on elections, mental health, and the truth. 

This is could get way worse.

Don't fear, there is a good path and it's growing every day!

With web3, users control their data and can selective disclose who can access their info.

Teams are using /litprotocol 's decentralized access control to store private data on the freely available data storage networks like 
Ethereum and IPFS.

This cohort is laying the ground work for web3 to be the privacy preserving, interoperable data layer for Decentralized Collective AI.

The possibilities are vast, ranging from community owned AI, privacy preserving personal agents, and automation of many B2B process, healthcare data, and more.

Perhaps one day, we'll see the UN declare access to AI collective insight a human right . . .

Most likely, the 'good' and 'bad' outcomes will happen in parallel.

In this case, Decentralized Collective AI becomes the refuge for free thinking humans and resistance to the status quo.
