“Tastemates”: somewhere out there is someone who likes all the same [books/movies/music etc] as you. Have an algorithm find that person and surface the things they love that you haven’t discovered yet. Makes the recommendations more trustworthy.

This was also the core use case behind Path: “bookmark your life.” With the hopes of connecting like minded users over time. @cdixon.eth I remember you working on Hunch in the same period which was same genre. We are still missing the vision becoming a reality a decade or more hence.
