One of my dreams used to be posting a verified solution on stack overflow, now I rarely even open it. 🥹

You really had to fight for your reputation back then. So many unspoken rules, unevenly enforced by an army of volunteer moderators.

Then once you were considered wise enough to help them triage incoming posts, you’d be quickly overwhelmed by the firehose of spam, low quality questions and incorrectly applied tags. The arguments on the meta-forum over tag “burnination” and unpopular company policy decisions would slowly wear you down.

Stack Exchange. Good times.
