It reflects your business and privacy needs. I don't want to see folks snooping for DIDs and authorizations sometimes, but sometimes we need to monitor... It's a dance. 2/2

Contrary to popular belief the data in Trust Registries may not be as open/public as you think. In many cases it is, but there are very valid cases where there are limits. From wide open - browse around to Answers only (is Entity Authorized to do X) to closed access only 1/2

I've been deep in the Trust Registry rabbit hole for a few years now. #1 realization is that you don't need a Trust Registry... until you do... and then you need a Trust Registry badly. #trustRegistry #decentralization

To me the refuting of a video forks: 1. "You can't trust this video" where provenance is needed. Thankfully that problem is being worked on. 2. "My followers will believe me" is a social problem that won't be solved easily. Given the smallest particle of doubt allows followers to maintain their believe/disbelief.

To establish a truly trustworthy internet, we need some critical technical pieces that can tie in governance. The technical pieces are: - Payload - WHAT you are sharing? - Protocol - HOW you are sharing? - Parties - WHO you are sharing with? It's critical though, to know the reason: - Purpose - WHY are you sharing?

Interesting. Will DeFi degens grok this? ā€œattestations, reflecting a user's account status at issuance time, are for informational purposes and should not be relied upon for legal or compliance purposes.ā€ https://github.com/coinbase/verifications

Would you be a compliance partner for your clients using DeFi services? ie You do the compliance, they do the DeFi txn (you get a fee).

There's a discussion in the #decentralizedIdentity realm - that we don't want the OS wallets (Apple Wallet, Google Pay+) to win. But what if the OS took care of doing the brutally hard work of storing, securing, and retrieving the credentials. Their wallets apps could use this - as could other (authorized) apps

ā€œfunctionally makes it tougher for newer entrantsā€ Exactly what the incumbents want. They donā€™t have real moats so the government helps create one. https://x.com/varun_mathur/status/1719120180809179640?s=20

I donā€™t have good news on interoperability for decentralized identity. Folks that think specs are interop are misinformed and often misleading their clients. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OD6rRUyLGOZ09S-1Ceky-hJHdIOaUyNT/view?usp=drivesdk

If you're in #web3 you're part of an ecosystem. If your ecosystem understand what "Assurance Level" means, you're probalby in a good position to generate a real value proposition.

With a trust layer for the internet emerging, we can finallty begin to deeply trust our digital relationships. We can see our relationships with THINGS as: Genuine, Authentic, and Original OR Fakes, Frauds, and Forgeries
