Omkareshwar is a sacred town in Madhya Pradesh, India, known for its religious significance and natural beauty. It is located on the banks of the Narmada River and is particularly famous for the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The town gets its name because the island it is located on, Mandhata, is shaped like the symbol “Om” when viewed from above.
