Harmony in Stone 

The archaeological site of Sanchi, which includes the Great Stupa (Stupa 1) and four gateways, is among the oldest monuments in India. 

It was built during the reign of Mauryan Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE. 

Although not directly linked to any events in the Buddha's life, Sanchi became a significant center of Buddhism and Buddhist art and architecture over time. 

This UNESCO World Heritage Site attracts tourists from around the globe. It is best visited at dawn to experience the tranquility before the crowds arrive.
