best place to visit [that I might not learn about by reading the usual travel resources?]?

Going with my brother in June and then heading to Bali with my wife afterwards. Would recommend d both! Vietnam at that time is rainy in the south and somewhat in the north, so we are doing Hanoi, Nimh Binh (also called “dry” Halong Bay) and then flying to Hoi An

Sa Pa (north of Hanoi) is great for trekking. 

In Bali - ubud, chengu, and Nusa Penida are amazing. You really can’t go wrong :)
