Totally agree. Someone called it hard science fiction because the author doesn’t shield the reader from the underlying “science” but it also makes for hard, painful reading at times. 

What are some of your sci-fi favs?

The last book is so painful, but the articulation of different concepts…especially around time… was very impressive…though so painful.
