Interesting that there is no shortage of ideas for frames, only in the engineers willing to build them.

The best play-to-earn games are the ones people would play even if they didn’t earn a single dollar playing them.

The most patriotic thing you can do is make your country a fertile ground for native talent to stay.

Take note EU 🇪🇺 This is how you hold on to your best talent from going abroad. Create incentives for them to stay and build in their homeland, not on the other side of the Atlantic. There will be an entire generation of British crypto founders staying in the UK now.

Every aspiring software entrepreneur would de facto incorporate their startup in the US regardless the nationality of the founder. This changes with crypto. The UK is becoming the most attractive place to build your crypto company. Financial regulation clarity and pro innovation. So impressive 🇬🇧

Every mobile wallet desperately wants to become a social network. Although mostly it’s a half-hearted attempt with a single explore tab rather than a fully integrated and unique social experience.

Technologists market crypto as an open ledger rather than a wealth distributer because the former sounds more intellectual and the latter sounds like a scam.

Even “play-to-earn” sounds like a scam. We need to rename every single term from the crypto bull run. It matters a lot what you call something.

Too many crypto games are running away from airdrops rather than leaning into the technology. Airdrops have a bad reputation. Airdrop means scam. Why aren’t we trying to redefine what and how airdrops can be done. Why haven’t we named them something else? Why aren’t we being more thoughtful about this?

Your crypto game can distribute money to players from day 1. Players can earn from the first minute. This concept has a bad reputation but it’s a core mechanic that crypto enables. It’s not that this is bad, just that it’s implementation has mostly been by bad actors.

So much of crypto gaming are game studios seeking to build the next best web3 game, pouring years into the product. Not enough scrappy indie devs slugging it out for 3 months to build a viral crypto mini game for iOS. More flappy bird and crossy roads pls and less first person shooters and complex strategy games.

Feel like the £12 entrance fee is a good barrier, it means those who join are committed and want to be part of this niche community. Fwiw I wouldn’t have paid the £12 if Farcaster didn’t have a reputation of being selective, crypto friendly and so upstanding.

Been here for less than a day, Farcaster feels like the place where smart and sincere crypto builders live.
