Bitcoin is often referred to as a cryptocurrency and is the most well-known and widely used of its kind. It can be used to purchase goods and services online, as well as for investment purposes. 

One of the key features of Bitcoin is its limited supply – there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoins in existence. This scarcity is one of the factors that has led to its value increasing over time.
