Roman Storm is an open source developer. On August 23rd 2023 at 6am with his 3-year old daughter asleep in the house, he was awakened by a fully armed SWAT team with rifles out. They cuffed him and took away his daughter. His crime: publishing open source privacy code. If found guilty Roman faces the prospect of multiple lifetimes in prison. If found guilty is any open source developer safe. If found guilty what does this say about our 1st & 4th amendment protections in America. Listen to his story & you tell me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFhe9kSbLGs

Data wiring is also not a priority during construction and is usually an after the fact item. Especially for residential

10base-t1l and s exist. The problem is most people don't wanna setup hardwired networking at their house and rather plop some type wireless node where electricity is already run. I'm in process of putting in fiver at my home compound and it is no easy task and it is not suitable to most consumer goods.

Same. For me, has to do with my first explorations and traveling by flight. Mixed with optimism, wonder, and anxiety.

I find this interesting in the sense that it's the same way I feel about a lot of areas of my life. soul searching and discovery are vectors to find your place among others. Your future home may not be solidified yet in the social context; you may also advocate for the things you believe and create and build a community around that. Not every friend can satiate your political niche nor should people agree with things flatly as they read an information source. You don't have to agree even in large swaths. You must advocate for your position and your views. Feel politically castrated? Feel like you don't have a vector to express stoppage in your life? Throw me a DM.

Every strand lives through you, and some you may call your own in their own special way. Strands upon strands of existence. We are never absolved from the anxious existentialism of the unattainable subconscious strands. At worst, the fallback to your attempt on a moral perfection is a right of center world view.

We lack the evolutionary motor skills to sit in the un-pleasantry of internet-fueled culture that sits on economic modernity. We can't get ahead; hope is hope of getting ahead. Enlightenment is decoding your muscle memory of everything evolution has codified and following the strand, the many strands, of its manifestation to a future outcome you're attempting to get ahead of out of a desire for a moral and ethical outcome.

We twist words to a preference rather than rising and stating things as flatly as language can be stated and being humbled in the imperfections. We fail to recognize what numbers contextualize, and we rather seek the confirmation of numbers in their narrow instantiations for the outcomes and outputs that benefit us in a Darwinist sense.

The impacts of voices and outcrys range from completely irrelevant to absolutely foundational. In an individual, its nearly impossible to predict their fates. In a group, with a dash of statistical gymnasium, we can make a correlation of our preferred outcome.

I can only give you a taste of the tonality. At best it is translated through story, choices of the facts, deep dissatisfactions, hopeful sentiments, or through aggregated techniques.

The internet is a million tiny obfuscatory nuggets that seed and are fruits of bewildering progressivism and simultaneously rotten transgressions. The entire impacts of internet culture is hidden, and unknown.

I hope for a society that is more decentralized, flexible, open minded, crazily curious, and embedded into sophisticated systems with the ownership at the heart of the individual and small communities. I believe humans are capable of radical progression in their thoughts and the societies they build, but that we have a dire crisis in mankind's journey into this techno modern age. The crisis being our association with self, with technology and virtual objects and what that means to how we treat our fellow humans that have alternative views. Where chivalry succeeded, sophistry fails, and vice verse. Context is everything to the story we tell. Stories being this living life force that passes on ideas and creates the basis for many future acts.

Can't think a better channel to post this. I'm at a point right now in this societal journey where I'm just embracing capitalism, with all of its flaws, despite my qualms and dislikes of the system - and accepting the consequences of what comes as a "byproduct of the time". I am in acceptance that there is nothing to be done to move the needle significantly in the way in which I should dip into my own self sacrifice. Where at the point that society paralyzes speech and intrudes human rights, I've come to realize that the advocacy means nothing if we do not pass it on to the next generation as what is learned. We die and there is nothing more noble than the self sacrifice for future peoples. The next generation will incur change, only as much as today's people extend that arm into the past as a compression of what came before but never losing its essence. Future me, future people that aren't me, are the bedrock of my drive and I just live in the fruits of who built today.
